We had a few stops on our own private beaches in Croatia. This tea and biscuits stop on Brač Island was particularly fine one, with excellent stone skimming opportunities to accompany the view. A worthy winner!

Cities with walls are fab. Especially if they a bit crumbly and you can just wander around them/have scenic elevenses in them. This is Este in Italy.
This is the online equivalent of forgetting to open your advent calendar for a day. Sadly you don’t get any chocolate, but the first two in our top five of picnic spots. Both of these were on the same day, possibly we remember it so fondly because it was the first day for ages it wasn’t freezing cold back in October. On this day we crossed the Swiss/German border several times, but both of these treats were in Switzerland. Lunch on a bridge over the Rhine, morning tea stop at the Rheinfall…

Pumpkin love knows no bounds in Switzerland. Most of the pictures below are from a shopping centre in Zug. There were more pumpkins than could ever fit in a camera view, including hundreds labelled with varyingly inappropriate names. The other awesome thing about this shopping centre was that in the supermarket a man was giving out free doughnuts. It’s like Zug knew we we were coming and needed food and entertainment.
Happy Halloween everyone!
